Face Makeup
Prepare the skin by cleansing thoroughly and applying a moisturiser to suit your own skin type. The makeup applies more easily to a clean well moisturised skin and it will last longer
Allow moisturiser time to be absorbed into the skin before applying foundation, 10 minutes is usually sufficient
Use a cream concealer to hide blemishes, spots or other imperfections. It may be applied under or over foundation and for accuracy apply with a fine brush and then blend in with foundation Yellow toned concealer help to camouflage redness
Masking dark circles under the eyes requires a lighter touch than a heavy concealer. Use a moisturising fluid emulsion such as Yves St Laurent's Touche Éclat radiant touch. This is made from a mixture of silicone and oils and light reflecting colour to eliminate signs of fatigue and blemishes. There are other similar options available from several other beauty companies. This type of product is also useful for eliminating other shadows on the face; at the sides of the nose, in the cleft of the chin or the corners of the mouth
Blend foundation well so there are no harsh lines, right up to the hairline and down over the jaw line
Make sure the colour of the foundation matches your skin colour and look at shades in natural light to ensure the correct colour is chosen
If your foundation is too heavy mix with a small amount of moisturiser for a more fluid consistency
Always apply the minimum amount and add more if required to prevent a thick, heavy appearance
Applying foundation with a damp sponge for a more sheer result |
